(Protective layer on right, should be removed to obtain good image.)
- Ensure you are enough water in the phantom, it should cover 1cm above phantom
- Enable phantom mode!
- Center probe on the phantom
- Probe should not be angled. 90 degrees perpendicular of phantom
- For phantoms less 150ml, use Scan Depth 10cm setting for more robustness.
Image above, shows a scan on small phantom less then 150ml with 16cm scan depth, due to bad angling of probe and deeper scan depth, Scanner is searching for a bladder surpass the bladder.
Changing scan depth to 10cm will robust the scan, and angling probe correctly often solves 0ml scans.
Image above, shows a scan on small phantom less then 150ml with 10cm scan depth, even with bad angling of probe the scanner is finding the bladder.
10cm scan depth will on smaller phantom compensate for bad angling of the probe.
On Patient
If a bladder is viewed on the ultrasound images, and 0ml occurs, this means some planes did not detect the bladder, and will automatically display 0ml. Please reposition the probe and try again. Remember to keep the probe steady during the whole scanning sequence.
